What a PERFECT day we had celebrating this very special milestone for one of our dearest 5U Families! The Hathcox are seriously the most AMAZING fam, and Miss Maggie is the most beautiful doll baby! It seems like just yesterday we were doing Sweet Maggie’s fresh-48 sesh, and now here we are marking a year of joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories. To capture this moment in all its sweetness, we headed to the beautiful Birmingham Botanical Gardens for this picture perfect 12 month milestone & smash cake sesh!

The PERFECT Location for a 12 Month Milestone…

The Birmingham Botanical Gardens are always a win anytime of year! Even in the middle of winter you can still get gorgeous greenery in their STUNNING greenhouses!! couldn’t have been more picturesque. The lush greenery of the greenhouses, and all the beautiful white fencing and lattice work created the most magical backdrop for Miss Maggie’s big day!

The CUTEST Birthday Girl….

Miss Maggie has always such a JOY everytime we get to see her, and this session was no different! She arrived dressed in this most adorable little outfit — the soft pink pastel bubble was stunning set against the rich greens of the greenhouse! With her bright eyes, adventurous spirit, and infectious smile, she came ready to make the most out of her special day!

I always LOVE 12 month milestones because little ones are ON THE MOVE, and always so curious and playful throughout the whole session! It was SO much fun to get the opportunity to capture Miss Maggie’s absolutely PERFECT little personality as she explored the gardens!

The Smash Cake….

The real fun began when Miss Maggie saw her smash cake. As soon as Miss Maggie was placed in front of her beautiful little cake you could see the excitement in her eyes. What followed was pure magic — she dove right in! It was clear she definitely understood the assignment, and was loving every minute! From the frosting-covered fingers to the cake smeared all over her face every moment captured was perfection. There’s something SO FUN about watching a baby’s first smash cake! Having done MANY smash cake session I have seen ALLLLLL different reactions, and they are all so sweet!

A 12 Month Milestone- The Perfect Ending to a Milestone Membership….

As I reflect on this past year of memories with the sweet Hathcox Family, this smash cake session was a perfect reminder of how quickly time flies and how special it is to cherish the little moments. We are so thankful for the Hathcox Family, and the opportunity to capture such beautiful memories over this past year. We are also SO excited about the next year full of memories to come with the continuation of their grow with me membership!

Maggie may not remember the details of her first birthday sesh, but these photos will always be there to remind us of her pure happiness and innocence on that special day.
